Still praying for Savannah and her family, and praying our Lord will intervene and she will not need radiation.

Savannah is doing so good! She's happy and can walk without any problems. Actually, she's showing no signs of any brain damage at all! Praise the Lord! Her mom still says no to chemotherapy, so my prayers are that the tumor does not return and that He will take care of her in His way. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart so very much for your prayer for this litle angel.

What wonderful news -- we are rejoicing with her family!

Savannah is back in the hospital after suffwering a massive seizure. No word yet....

This must be so frustrating for her family. I'll continue to pray for the them and the doctors.

Sadly, the doctors believe that Mom isn't giving Savannah her medications at the specified times she's supposed to, or even missing doses.

Now how sad is that - first thing that popped into my head is could witholding medicine be the mother's way of dealing with the chemo question - does she view this child as a lifelong burden and just cant deal with it.

Shirley, that is my line of thinking too. She can't bear the thought of having a child that isn't 'perfect'. Any child is perfect in my eyes. I pray that she doesn't withold the medications to the detriment of Savannah. That would be horribly sad.

Hopefully, she just finds the schedule difficult to follow and doesn't realize the importance of exact timing.

I'll continue to pray for everyone involved.

Susan, unfortunately, her family says this is a common practise for her. She does this with her own meds too.

Prayers for Savannah and for her mother. This has to be so hard for her Mother and I pray that Mom will be guided by doctors, friends and family to see that this little one gets the care she needs. The doctors always have the option of reporting to Children's Protective Services if they believe the Mother is neglecting the child's medical needs (as can the family or anyone else). Sometimes it is better to have a third party make medical decisions when things are just too hard for parents emotionally to make good decisions.
